Saturday Film Club: Shefield freight working

I wish I had a time machine. A trip back to 1961 when this BTF film was shot would be high on the agenda. It's a world I never knew and yet spend lots of time trying to recreate in miniature. Fascinating.

Thanks Phil for highlighting this film. Ten minutes of pure full on detail and atmosphere that makes you realise just how much you don't know about that era but it is so inspirational - just makes you want to model it all. That battered front end of the Scarab is just brilliant, as is the overall grim and dirt that seems to cover everything and not a high viz vest in sight!

Woody.

Fantastic film. How innocent and naive. If only they could have seen 2017!

Brilliant. The mech horse at 5.00 is pure joy and the mounted crane jib loading the van made my 21st century health and safety sensitivities yelp. How much we have changed/lost.
