Detailed scenes

 

Not all Aussie layouts are giant scene nailed in place. Master modeller, Gavin Thrum, builds what we would consider "conventional" exhibition layouts. On to these he lavishes high levels of detail.

 

As a bit of a detail freak myself, I loved this work and could have snapped many more shots. As it is, I present four examples. Hopefully there will be more appearing in print in the not too distant future.

 

All this is impressive, especially when you consider that Gavin is one of the very few pure-bred Aussies I met while away. Not only that, he's never been to Britain so all this is from photographs!
